Community Living Algoma (CLA) is a non-profit organization that has supported people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or autism across the District of Algoma for more than 70 years.
 
We support over 800 people with a dedicated team of approximately 340 staff. Our mission is to ensure that all people are recognized as full citizens, achieve personal dignity, enjoy the rights and responsibilities of independence, and are supported to reach their full potential.

The Opportunity
 
Community Living Algoma is seeking a visionary and relationship-driven Executive Director to lead the organization forward.
 
The Executive Director provides overall leadership, ensures the delivery of high-quality, person-centered services, and builds strong partnerships with the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS), community agencies, Indigenous communities, and local stakeholders.
 
This is an opportunity for a strategic and collaborative leader committed to advancing inclusion, supporting organizational excellence, and guiding a large, diverse non-profit organization dedicated to supporting people and their families.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
·   Provide strategic leadership and direction for all supports and services across the District of Algoma.
·   Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure delivery of high-quality, person-centered supports.
·  Build and maintain strong relationships with people supported, families, employees, ministry, community partners, Indigenous communities, and regional stakeholders.
·    Champion and advance inclusion, human rights, accessibility, and advocacy at local and provincial levels.
·  Act as a champion of inclusive education and lifelong learning by promoting meaningful learning and development opportunities for people supported.
·    Foster a positive, collaborative organizational culture and lead the senior leadership team.
·   Provide transparent financial leadership, including stewardship of a multi-million-dollar operating budget, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
·  Ensure compliance with MCCSS Quality Assurance Measures (QAM) and all legislative and regulatory requirements.
·   Ensure compliance with the requirements of the French Language Services Act (FLSA) in the delivery of organizational services and support the provision of French language services.
·   Lead strategic planning and drive continuous improvement across the organization utilizing data and key performance indicators.
·   Strengthen and sustain families by fostering supports and services that recognize their vital role in the lives of the people we support
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
·  Master’s degree preferred in a related discipline (e.g., Social Work, Business Administration) or post-secondary education in social services, business, public administration, health administration, or related field; or equivalent senior leadership experience.
·    5–10+ years of senior leadership experience in developmental services, non-profit, community services, or related social sectors.
·     Demonstrated experience leading large, complex organizations with multiple service streams.
·  Strong knowledge of Ontario’s developmental services system, MCCSS requirements, and sector policies.
·    Proven relationship-building, advocacy, and community engagement skills.
·    Strong financial management experience, including oversight of multi-million-dollar budgets.
·    Experience in human resources leadership, labour relations, change management, and strategic planning.
·    Experience working in unionized environments.
·    Familiarity with northern, rural, or Indigenous communities.
·    Board governance experience and demonstrated ability to report effectively at a senior level.

SALARY RANGE: $150,000 to $200,000 annually
